Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making SmilePlease usable for everyone.

Last updated: January 1, 2026

Our commitment

SmilePlease is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to make our service more inclusive.

Conformance status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities.

Current status: Partially conformant. We are actively working to reach full conformance.

Accessibility features

We have implemented the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard.
  • Screen reader support: Content is structured with semantic HTML and ARIA labels for screen reader compatibility.
  • Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast requirements.
  • Focus indicators: Visible focus states for keyboard users.
  • Alternative text: Images include descriptive alt text.
  • Form labels: All form fields have associated labels for screen readers.
  • Resizable text: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality.
  • Reduced motion: Animations respect the "prefers-reduced-motion" system setting.

Known limitations

We are aware of the following accessibility limitations and are working to address them:

  • AI-generated images: Some generated portrait images may not have fully descriptive alt text due to their dynamic nature. We describe them generically as "AI-generated portrait variation."
  • Complex image previews: The 6-variation preview grid may be challenging for some screen reader users. We recommend using the list view option when available.
  • Third-party components: Some embedded components (Stripe checkout) are controlled by third parties and may have their own accessibility limitations.

Assistive technology tested

We test our website with the following assistive technologies:

  • VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • NVDA (Windows)
  • JAWS (Windows)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Screen magnification software

Browser compatibility

SmilePlease is designed to be compatible with the following browsers:

  • Chrome (latest two versions)
  • Firefox (latest two versions)
  • Safari (latest two versions)
  • Edge (latest two versions)

For the best accessibility experience, we recommend using the latest version of your preferred browser.
